I found Alexander's death registration on Scotland's People which gave his parent's names. The informant was George Sangster listed as a "half nephew" of Hillhead of Meadowbank.

I also found the death registration for his son Alexander which states that he died Single, informant was his cousin John Sangster, 403 George Street, Aberdeen.
