Webmaster's notes:

This family line has been confirmed by Rae Mutch and Noelene Murphy of New Zealand who are both descended from son Alexander. Noelene has also provided a detailed listing of the NZ desendants of this family line.
Alexander + Jane sailed to New Zealand with three children (James, Alexander and Jane) onboard the ship JURA arriving at Port Chalmers, Dunedin on 23 September 1858.

They started a pioneer farm at Awakiki bush and the first house they built is still standing today - as you can see.

During one of my all to seldom visits to the Family History headquarters in Aberdeen, I found a copy of the Souvenir Booklet from the 1985 Mutch gathering at Puerua, Otago, New Zealand. I contains a lot of details about Alexander and Jane's descendants as well as this picture of them with son James and daughter Jean.

The booklet also adds John & William as two additional children of this family. The details are taken from a old family bible and haven't been verified.
