Alan Johnston contacted the website about an error he discovered with family line J9. Daughter Jane had been linked to the wrong Jane Mutch:

Jane Mutch born 11 Oct 1822 in Rayne, married John Peter in Daviot 26 Nov 1854. John was born c. 1823 in Culsalmond. They lived in Rayne until John died in Rayne 28 Jun 1876. Jane was in Aberdeen in 1881 as her son John’s housekeeper. She died in Aberdeen, Old Machar 9 Jul 1886. There is an MI for John, Jane and second son James in the Rayne kirkyard. Eldest son John was a teacher and died in Aberdeen.

I am distantly connected through several marriage links vie my paternal cousin 2r to this branch of Mutch. I am closer to Janet Mutch (1811-1900) who is my maternal gg grandmother.

While fixing this I did some digging and quickly found no fewer than 5 Jane/Jean Mutches born in 1822! Not all are on our website and not all the details agree, so some more work is required here. Any input would be appreciated.
