I have found William's death entry in the OPR. He is recorded as an "illegitimate brickmaker" - I can only assume this relates to his birth & not his trade! Poor man still labeled after 82 years.
His parents are given as Alexander Mutch + Ann Gray. The death was registered by his half brother John. I have assumed this is the William registered at Peterhead in 1802 with only father's name given (although this needs to be confirmed). I would be grateful if anyone find out which family line Alexander & his son John belonged too.
