The link to son David comes from an email from Beth Collier dated 8th November 1999 on the Mutch Surname Board at Ancestory.com. I have been unable to contact Beth to confirm the details.
I have since come across the information posted on GenCircles by Leslie Gerard Hay under the Gerard Family Tree. I have so far been unable to contact Leslie to confirm his data.

Elspet Mutch born 25th June 1773 was the mother of Elizabeth Porter born about 1816 and died 1887 in Forgue age 71. Her father was Robert Porter
