Nancy Loe provided the information that James + Esther Nicol [J11] were Peter's parents. She also gave details of the additional three children which do not appear in IGI. See under J11 for full details.
I found details of Peter and Elizabeth's (Eliza) birth and christening in the Catholic Parish Records on the GRO website. The parish names here are different from the Church of Scotland ones.
Nancy Loe has since found another daughter, Ann, from this family

I have an update on Isabella Mutch, dau of Peter Lang and Ann McBeath Mutch attached. Given the cause of death, I'd say this might be a case of seduced and abandoned. Never married.
