So what are the criteria for deciding what's included and where the Family Lines stop?

This website was created to help researchers complete the details of the many Mutch families living in the North-east of Scotland before official centralised record keeping began in 1855. Only couples originating from the North-east and marrying or having children before this date have their children included. Details of later descendants are freely available in the other places (see links page).

However more flexibility has been given for including other areas of Scotland for very early Mutch records. This is done in an effort to help trace the origins and spread of the surname to the North-east.
